Miyazaki Minamisayaka Black FF 2024 - 50g

A black tea from the mountainous region of Miyazaki Prefecture, where the production of Kamairicha green tea is the main focus.

The leaves from the Minami-Sayaka cultivar, which was bred in this area, were used for production. The origin of this cultivar is the tea tree native to the Assam region.  

The batch is split between a few sources around the world, so always a very finite amount. 

The tea has a beautifully crafted leaf, similar to black teas from Taiwan. 

The aroma of the dry leaf is sweet, combining peach, citrus and a noticeable creaminess.

The infusion is medium-bodied, very easy-drinking tea, refreshing. The taste combines fruity peach notes, creamy/cream notes with a slight minerality. The aftertaste is sweet, pleasantly spicy.

For me, a very light, pleasant black tea suitable also for summer time.

The first of a category that is starting to grow, there are many such treasures out there.

Brewing for 150ml:

Gongfu - 6g, 98C, 60s, second infusion 50s, then extend according to personal preference

Western - 150ml, 3g, 98C, 5 minutes. Tea will dispense almost anything, additional infusion can be prepared.
